Home Run Ball

As reported in The San Jose Mercury News, on 28 Oct 2002 Ted Kobayashi testified in a trial (Popov vs. Hayashi) concerning ownership of Barry Bonds’ record-setting 73rd home run ball. Popov contends he was mugged by a crowd of unruly fans after he first caught the ball in the arcade of Pacific Bell Park.

Ted and Janet Jhoun, who also testified, spent hours reviewing videotape of "the catch" and concluded that insufficient time had elapsed, from the time Popov caught the ball to when he fell, for him to have been attacked or intentionally harmed.

As of this time, the decision of the judge has not been announced.
