Staff Profile - Mike Braun |

|
|
|
Mike Braun joined our staff in 1990 after working as a design engineer and loss prevention specialist. Mike showed early interest in forensic engineering by his desire to take things apart to learn how they worked, why they failed and how they could be designed differently. Mike has been so satisfied with the challenges, co-workers and work environment at Boster, Kobayashi and Associates that he convinced his brother Tom to also join the firm in 1993. Mike
grew up in Livermore and graduated from Livermore
High School. His interest in
cars and mechanical systems led him to pursue a degree in
mechanical engineering. “I
recall reading a magazine article on forensic engineering during
my senior year in college and I knew that I would love to pursue
a career in that field.” He

While
attending Cal Poly, Mike worked for two summers at the Lawrence
Livermore National Laboratory, where he was awarded Honor
Undergraduate Fellowships to participate in and conduct
scientific research. While
at the Lab, Mike investigated techniques of producing low
density polymers with enhanced mechanical properties. He also designed laboratory equipment and conducted tests
to determine mechanical properties. |
