Tom Boster Returns to High School |

The Bexley, The
Dr. Judah Folkman Science Fund was established in 1999 to
provide opportunities in the science field.
This is achieved each year through a series of classroom
experiences that bring recognized science professionals and high
school students together. |

Tom
Boster shared his real-life experiences from his work as a
physicist/engineer during his three-day lecture series at the
Folkman Scientist in Residence Program.
He pointed out that fewer than five Dr.
Boster admitted to his audience that while in school, he was
more distinguished on the athletic field than in the classroom.
In his junior year of college, after two years of average
college grades, it was on the football field, watching an angry
teammate taking out his frustrations on a tackling sledge, that
he had his epiphany. Tom
continued his football scholarship for all four years but also
focused on his upper division courses, achieving (almost)
straight A's and making the Dean's list during his junior and
senior years. He
went on to earn a Masters and Doctorate degree from |
