PRESENT POSITION:   1986 to present

Partner of Boster, Kobayashi & Associates, a consulting firm specializing in the technical aspects of accident reconstruction. Typical assignments involve the applications of the Laws of Physics and the principles of Safety Engineering to accident reconstruction.


    
PREVIOUS POSITIONS:
 

          San Leandro Police Department Traffic Division:  1985-1987  

Traffic Investigator. Conducted all follow-up and accident reconstruction activities

for collisions occurring in the City of San Leandro. Responded to seven fatal collisions

and conducted the necessary follow-up and/or reconstruction for nearly 700 serious

injury accidents.

          Oakland Police Department Traffic Division:  1981-1985  

Chief Accident Investigator. Supervised the Department's traffic accident follow-up

and reconstruction officers. Final authority in deciding whether the Department would

petition the District Attorney for criminal complaints. Supervised the reconstruction

of 120 fatal collisions and personally responded to nearly 40 fatal collisions.  

          Oakland Police Department Traffic Division:  1972-1981  

Field Supervisor-Motorcycle Squad Sergeant. Responsible for overseeing all major

accident investigations occurring during my shift. Responded to approximately 7500

collisions of which nearly 3700 involved serious personal injury and nearly 80 involved

fatal injury. Responsible for overseeing the motorcycle safety habits of the officers in

my unit.  

          Oakland Police Department Communications Division:  1970-1972  

Shift Supervisor. Supervised personnel receiving, analyzing and directing the 

Department's response to calls for police service.  

          Oakland Police Department Internal Affairs Section:  1969-1970  

Investigator. Investigated complaints against Police Department Personnel.

Oakland Police Evidence Technician:  1968-1969  

 

Obtained, preserved and documented physical evidence necessary for the

successful conclusion of criminal investigations.

          Oakland Police Department Patrol Division:  1965-1968

 

                    Worked various patrol division beats throughout the city.
