From June 1964 to October 1970:
Marine Electrician, Mare Island Naval Shipyard. Repaired, constructed and tested electrical and electronic
equipment installed on Nuclear Power Submarines including missile launching, gyro navigation and ship’s
control panel systems.
From October 1970 to November 1971:
Highway Electrician I, District 7. Repaired and maintained electrical facilities, such as traffic signals,
illuminated signs, street lighting, electrical pumping stations, and other electrical and electronic related
facilities in Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties.
From November 1971 to March 1978:
Caltrans Electrician II, District 4. Served as the lead person and worked independently on Traffic Signals
and other Highway Electrical and Electronic control devices. Assisted with the development and testing
of the Model-170 traffic control system.
From March 1978 to April 1982:
Caltrans Electrical Supervisor, District 4. Supervised a crew of seven persons in the more complex
installation, maintenance, construction and repair of Electrical and Electronic controlled devices used
on the State Highways and Toll Bridges within the District.
From April 1982 to August 1984:
Caltrans Electrical Superintendent II, District 4. Supervised, directed and coordinated the activities of four
Electrical Supervisors and associated crews in the maintenance of electrical and electronic controlled
devices on the State Highways and Toll Bridges within the assigned electrical area.
From August 1984 to November 1994:
CT Electrical Region Manager, District 4. Managed a maintenance region with a staff of 80+ persons,
responsible for the maintenance of all electrical and electronic systems on the State Highway and
Toll Bridges in District 4.
From November 1994 to July 2005:
Caltrans Maintenance Manager II, District 4. Responsible for the Maintenance of all Electrical/Electronic
and Traffic Guidance Systems including pavement delineation, markings, raised markers and sign
installations in District 4 and the Maintenance of the Caldecott Tunnel and Posey Webster Tubes
with over 200 employees and an overall budget of $16.5 million.
